Sarah is a self taught silversmith.

She is deeply drawn to old stories, especially Slavic and Ashkenazi folklore. Sarah's work contains a fair amount of imagery from these stories, as well as plant life.

The name Understory Silversmithing came from the desire to grasp the things that most inspire her jewelry. While Sarah is deeply inspired by the forest floor (or understory), she also strives to seek meaning beneath the stories we tell each other. There is often a lot more than what meets the eye.
